Business Phone Systems for Retail Stores
A retail phone system should give every store its own main number, let any available phone in the store answer, and let stores and headquarters reach each other by extension. PeachComm runs phone service for retailers, including chains with many locations. We set up your stores on Webex Calling, with Cisco desk phones and Cisco-certified Poly and Yealink phones, from $24 per user per month.

What phone system does a retail store need?
A retail store needs its own main number, a call queue so any available phone can answer, extension dialing to other stores, and paging for the sales floor.
- A main number for every store. Each store is its own location on one company-wide system, with its own main number.
- Every phone can answer. The store number rings a call queue that includes every desk phone in the store, so whoever is available answers. Queue reports show how each store's calls were handled.
- Store-to-store dialing. Each store has its own extensions plus a store dialing prefix, so any store or headquarters can call another store's extension directly.
- Park and page. Call park and paging buttons sit in the same place on every store phone.
- One team for changes. PeachComm handles moves, adds and changes across every store, including new users and phones.
Can every store have its own number on one system?
Yes. Each store is set up as its own location, with its own main number, call queue and phones. All of the stores share one system, one admin view and one PeachComm bill. PeachComm runs phone service for retailers, including chains with many locations, where every store gets its own location, main number and call queue. One multi-location retailer also uses PeachComm's POTS line replacement for its alarm lines.
How do stores and headquarters call each other?
Every store gets a short dialing prefix in front of its extensions (a location routing prefix). Headquarters or any store dials the prefix and extension to reach another store's phone directly, without looking up its outside number. Calls between stores stay on your own system.
How does overhead paging work with a cloud phone system?
Staff press the paging button on a store desk phone to make an announcement. A paging group sends one-way announcements to a set of phones, and paging adapters connect the phone system to overhead speakers. If a store already has an overhead paging amplifier, we can usually connect it to Webex Calling with a paging adapter or an analog adapter (ATA). We set up the same park and paging buttons on every store phone, so staff who move between stores find them in the same place.
Why do store numbers get flagged as spam, and what does Number Reputation Management do?
The major mobile carriers label some business numbers as "spam" or "scam likely" based on calling patterns, and a flagged number means customers may not pick up when the store calls back. Our Number Reputation Management* add-on checks your store numbers each week for spam and scam labels at the major carriers. When a number is flagged, we request removal from the carrier.

Who handles new stores, new hires and phone moves?
We do. PeachComm handles moves, adds and changes across your whole account: new users, new phones, a phone moving to another counter, or a new store opening. Each new store gets the same setup as the others, including its location, main number, store queue, dialing prefix and button layout.
What about fax, alarm and card terminal lines?
- Fax: Fax2Mail send-and-receive lines are $24 per line per month, and receive-only fax is included.
- Analog devices: an analog adapter (ATA) connects analog devices on store lines to Webex Calling.
- Alarm panels and some card terminals: if they still dial out on a copper line, PeachComm's POTS line replacement can move that line to a cellular device with battery backup, subject to local code approval, from $55 per line per month plus the device. For fire alarm lines, your alarm company and the local authority having jurisdiction have the final say.

How switching works
- We port your numbers, including each store's main number, so customers keep calling the number on your website, receipts and storefront.
- We set up every store the same way. We build each store's location, main number, call queue, dialing prefix, park and paging buttons with you, then test before go-live. Stores can switch one at a time, outside your busiest season.
- We train your team and stay available. Most support is remote, and an on-site technician is available upon request.
Already have desk phones? If your Cisco, Poly or Yealink phones are on our supported phones list, we can likely convert them to work on PeachComm, so you may not need new phones. Some phones need a software update or a conversion first, and older models may need to be replaced. We'll check each model before you switch.

How it works
Example: A growing chain on one system. A retailer with a separate phone line at each store wanted every store on one system. PeachComm ported each store's number, set up each store as its own location with a store call queue, and gave every store a dialing prefix, so stores now call each other by extension.
Example: Paging the sales floor from any phone. A store needed staff to page the floor from the counter. PeachComm added paging adapters and speakers, set up a paging group, and put the same paging and park buttons on every store phone.
These are typical examples.
Retail phone system FAQs
What's the best phone system for a retail store?
The best retail phone system gives each store its own main number and call queue, lets stores dial each other by extension and adds overhead paging and call park on store phones. PeachComm sets this up on Webex Calling, starting at $24 per user per month for accounts with 2 or more users.
Can each of our stores have its own phone number on one system?
Yes. Each store is set up as its own location with its own main number, and that number rings a store call queue, so any available store phone can answer. Every store shares one company-wide system, and call queue reports show how each store's calls were handled.
Can our stores call each other by extension?
Yes. Each store has its own extensions plus a short store dialing prefix. Headquarters or any store dials the prefix and extension to reach another store's phone directly, without looking up its outside number. PeachComm sets up the prefix for each new store when it opens.
Can staff page the sales floor and park calls from store phones?
Yes. Every store phone can have call park and paging buttons in one standard layout across all stores. Paging adapters connect the phone system to overhead speakers. If a store already has an overhead paging amplifier, we can usually connect it to Webex Calling with a paging adapter or an analog adapter (ATA).
What can you do if a store number shows up as spam?
Our Number Reputation Management add-on checks your store numbers each week for spam and scam labels at the major mobile carriers. When a number is flagged, we request removal from the carrier, so customers are more likely to answer when your store calls them back. You don't need to watch for flags yourself.
Who handles new stores, new employees and phone moves?
PeachComm handles moves, adds and changes across your whole account, including new users, new phones and new stores. Each new store gets the same setup as the others: its own location, main number, store call queue, dialing prefix and standard button layout. Call 877-953-8741 or request a quote.
